Telma increases capacity on W3A for digital infrastructure in Madagascar

Telma, Madagascar’s principal telecommunications operator has increased its capacity on W3A to extend corporate and rural communications throughout the country. The project is part of a national programme to build digital communications in Madagascar. 600 VSATs are to be installed across the country, enabling businesses and communities to benefit from a reliable data communications infrastructure, providing services including fixed and mobile telephony, Internet access, Voice over IP, videoconferencing, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and data broadcasting. more>

The Associated Press (AP) is one of the world’s leading news agencies, supplying a stream of news around the clock to its members, subscribers and commercial customers across the world. AP has extended its relationship with Eutelsat through the lease of capacity on the W3A satellite serving Africa. The five-year fractional transponder lease was put in place to enable AP to upload its Africa newswire service to W3A and deliver it direct to daily newspaper, radio, television and online customers across sub-Saharan Africa. more>
